Heat
Ultrasound
Ultrasound therapy is a non-invasive treatment in which sound waves are used to penetrate soft tissues thereby increasing the blood flow. This improvement in circulation can help relieve pain and so promote tissue healing.
It is particularly useful for arthritic conditions, torn ligaments and tendons, and for sore muscles which are painful to touch.
The sound waves can penetrate deeply into joints and achieve faster healing.

Infrared
Infrared therapy uses infrared light; it applies heat to a depth of several centimetres. It can be used to get heat to damaged or injured muscles, bones and joints, and also arthritic joints. This can help with pain relief, reduction of muscle tension, relaxation, and improved circulation.

Wax bath
Small amounts of molten paraffin wax are poured onto the relevant areas and covered with foil and cloth to keep the heat in, allowing it to penetrate into joints and muscles, while also softening the skin.

Cupping
In cupping, small cups which can create a vacuum are placed on the skin. In the same way as for vacuum suction waste products are brought nearer to the skin.
Then, when the cups are removed the skin is massaged to move the waste products towards the lymph nodes to improve lymphatic drainage.

Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a key component of traditional Chinese medicine. It involves the insertion of very thin needles into the skin at strategic points on the body.
It is used for pain relief, relaxation and stimulation, and also to promote healthy muscles.

Shockwave Therapy
Shockwave therapy is a non-invasive treatment where sound energy is targeted at areas with tissue damage, in order to stimulate the body’s natural healing process, and in some cases, it can break up deposits of calcium too.
It can relieve pain and promote the healing of injured tendons, ligaments, and other soft tissues.

The Thumper TM
The Thumper is a hand-held percussive device that transmits energy deep into the muscle tissue releasing tension through all the fascia layers.
It can be used on most muscle groups and is great for warming up muscles, increasing blood flow to the area being treated as well as releasing muscle tension and fatigue.
